The following comments were made:
“No formal dinner”
“I think these days are enjoyable and very well ran and would not be adverse to any of the options above. Those highlighted above are preferential only and I fully back the committee members on whichever decisions they deem suitable.”
“This is already a well run society and my suggestions reflect little change required – so congratulations to the Committee. I look forward to the 40th year celebrations and hopefully an away day with 36 holes!”
“£10.00 annual subscription in exchange for a shirt.”
“Really like the idea of having an order of merit going throughout the season and think that this would encourage more members. 36 holes is a long day but if there are only 3 events I think people will make the effort to attend all of them.”
“No preference on presentation ceremony provided Riley isn’t allowed to ramble on and continue to clear out his trophy cabinet.”
“Would like to see standard of dress at dinner improve, i.e. no jeans / trainers that seem to have crept in.”
“Wensum Valley – never.”
“I think it would be nice if when we get the 40th anniversary Shirts that we all have the same colour, that way we can be seen as the society we are rather than different colours. I think it would look good on the course and in the bar. Just an idea.”
“Firstly thanks to everyone who works hard organising these events. I have been attending these events for 5 years and they are brilliantly organised and are 3 Golf days I look forward to each year so difficult to suggest improvements. My only suggestion would be is that it would be nice to mix the teams up for some of the afternoon events so we get the chance to play with more people in the society.”
“I love these days but I think a weekend to Vegas would be an idea in the coming years.”
“Excellent questionnaire. As a relatively recent member this is an enjoyable informal society that continues to be well run. If a membership fee is applied then perhaps there would be sufficient funds for place prizes in the team competition. Should the cost of the day be reduced, by adopting either the reduced number of holes or the food bill, consideration could be given for keeping the present level of cost and improving or extending the prize fund.”
“My advice would be to not try and overcomplicate things, keep it mainly about the Golf, the completion element, good company and a bit of an evening social (meal and awards). In my opinion I don’t want it to become like a gentleman’s club (and I’m not saying it is). Thanks as always for organising.”
“If attending numbers is becoming more of a problem, why not ask members to encourage a guest to join us?”
“Hole in one fund a good idea to be able to buy something to mark the occasion.”
